About the role.
We are looking for a talented Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, Backend & Systems to join the Agile backend team in developing and executing QA processes to ensure we catch as many bugs as possible before releasing those in a continuous integration and deployment environment.
What you’ll do.
- Collaborate with the Director of QA Engineering, Software Engineers, and Product teams in understanding both functional and non-functional requirements
- Create test strategies for the backend team and coordinate changes with other teams
- Test GraphQL APIs to ensure the expectations of the Web and Mobile apps are met
- Troubleshoot issues reported by customer support or error reporting tools
- Log bugs, track progress and verify fixes
- Ensure high quality output and be responsible for the last sign off before production release
- Participate in daily scrum ceremonies, aligned to East Coast business hours
What you’ll bring.
- 5+ years of working in QA at a software company
- Degree in computer science or relevant software testing experience
- 2+ years of working with relational databases such as Postgres and using SQL
- Comfortable using tools such as curl, Postman and Charles Proxy
- Experience in testing websites and mobile apps
- Good understanding of how browsers work - dev tools, cookies, local storage, incognito, etc.
- A proven track record of delivering high quality and tested software on time and often
- Able to prioritize and execute QA tasks with minimal supervision
Bonus points.
- Comfortable with scripting and API test automation
- Knowledge of HTML and Javascript
- Experience with web protocols
- Salesforce testing experience
