At Peacock we are combining premium content from NBC, Universal Pictures, Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation, Illumination and Hollywood's biggest studios with the enterprise technology expertise of Comcast and Sky. Peacock was launched in 2020 and we are rapidly transforming to be the premier online destination for sports, news and entertainment accessible from a wide variety of platforms and devices.
The Technology, Product and Innovation team sits within the Playback Services group and works on a variety of projects aimed at future platforms and technologies to innovate and improve various aspects of the business. We are seeking an experienced engineer to build a new video player for use across various embedded systems.
Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements Conducts analysis to determine integration needs
  • Architect and design new features
  • Build prototype and POCs pitching ideas with Product management and other stakeholders
  • Identify bugs and areas of improvement
  • Mentor junior members of the team
  • Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
  • Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures team delivers software on time, to specification, and within budget.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with RDK and AAMP
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in design and development using C, C++ and Javascript.
  • Deploying and maintaining development infrastructure across local and cloud-based systems
  • Experience in Build tools (Yocto, Makefile), Splunk( Dash boards, metrics and adhoc queries), JIRA (user story and bug tracking), Git/Gerrit (code checkin, reviews)
  • Holds advanced industry technical knowledge
  • Function as a multi-domain expert
  • Well spoken, able to collaborate with other groups
