As a Lab Manager / Senior Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, installation, trouble shooting and providing management and administration control over the lab. It is imperative you have a well-rounded background in many environments and be a jack of all trades, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies. In the role you will set up demo environments as well as configuring and setting up production environments. At Turbonomic, our demo environments are considered production. Additionally, you will be responsible for lab implementation and developing or enhancing environments with home built scripts or 3rd party utilities like load generator.

To be successful, it is essential for you to develop an understand the Turbonomic product and use cases. You will interact with IT as well as sales and field engineering to understand and design production quality demo environment, training environment for educational services as well as sandbox and learning environment for field and internal on-boarding classes.

Technical experience you'll bring:

• Virtualization – especially VMware
• Infrastructure (routers, switches, DMZ, DNS, Active Directory, Proxies, Servers, Storage, network, firewall, etc)
• OS – Windows, Linux, etc
• Cloud – AWS or Azure

Responsibilities

• Creating a blueprint and structure for our lab environment including, but not limited to:
• (1) Hardware and software required
• (2) A front-end/interface to the lab
• (3) Sectioning off the labs to be utilized by core groups within Turbonomic
• Deployment, management and upgrading the Turbonomic instances in our lab environment
• Managing the 3rd party technologies that we need to leverage in the lab as we expand Turbonomic’s capabilities
• Adding use cases to the Turbonomic lab as required by the SE, Training, Alliance or Partner teams which could require Turbonomic capability, 3rd party capability or both
• Assuming accountability for procuring the licensing and infrastructure we need to support the current and future SE, Alliance, Training and Partner-Facing Labs
• Participation in the Center of Excellence Initiative which is focused on Turbonomic’s purchase and maintenance processes for hardware and software to support our GTM activities – driving elements like volume purchase agreements with key vendors and leveraging current technology investments.
