Software Architect (Turbonomic, Inc., White Plains, New York): Senior technical member of the Engineering team who is responsible for helping define, design, and implement product features and functionality as defined by the Product Management team.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
- Work with product and senior management to help shape the product direction.
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
- Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.
- Attend customer meetings to provide technical guidance and to resolve customer issues.
- Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation.
- Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
- Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting required formats, costs and security needs to determine target system configuration.
- Design and implement the security aspects of our products.
- Work with team developers to identify and investigate technical issues and make recommendations for modifications to resolve technical problems.
Requirements
- Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree (or a foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience developing and designing a suite of advanced virtualization management products.
- (1) Demonstrated experience with Java, C++, UML, Distributed Systems Security, RDBMS and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD)
- (2) Experience with Distributed Systems Architecture
- (3) Demonstrated track record of technical leadership, in defining a product platform and ensuring that it meets technical requirements of large enterprise customers and by designing industry best practices
- (4) Experience in customer management, including providing technical guidance to customers and resolving customer issues.
