What this role is about:
As a Software Engineer in Test, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality of our software prior to delivery to our users and partners. You'll be working closely with other engineers, DevOps, and the product team to improve quality through tests across the entire product. You will develop, maintain, enhance and execute complex automated scripts, pair with and educate other team members and innovate with the QA team to optimize quality across our products.
What you’ll do if chosen for this role:
Develop and maintain an in-house automation framework (developed using Python).
Planning, writing and executing test scripts as well as utilizing existing scripts.
Analyze and write test standards and procedures.
Maintain documentation of testing frameworks.
Interpret technical, designs and functional specifications and design automated solutions accordingly.
Work with the development team to ensure quality during the Agile development lifecycle.
What we’d like to see in our ideal candidate:
3+ years experience designing, developing, and testing automation framework and scripts in Python
Proficient in programming using Python with experience applying those skills in test environments
Experience building and maintaining an end-to-end test automation framework
Experience building test automation for APIs and Web Services
Experience working with source control (Git) / defect tracking (JIRA) systems
Experience working in a Linux environment
Familiarity with Selenium WebDriver
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Concourse and Jenkins
Ability to collaborate and work well in a cross-functional environment
Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
Knowledge of OOP principles
Experience working in a startup environment
Experience writing automation for applications run in virtualized servers or in the cloud.
Experience testing mission-critical systems
Ability to quickly become proficient in new tools/technologies
