Cityblock Health is a new type of healthcare company, operating out of Brooklyn and backed by Alphabet’s Sidewalk Labs, along with some of the top healthcare investors in the country.

Our mission is to radically improve the health of urban communities, one block at a time. Importantly, our solutions are designed specifically for Medicaid and lower-income Medicare beneficiaries, and we bring the capability to deliver care in the home and neighborhood with our field-based teams.

In close collaboration with community-based organizations and leading commercial partners, we are reorganizing the health system to focus on what matters to our members. We deliver personalized primary care, behavioral health, and social services through a network of neighborhood hubs with deep community-based partnerships and world-class technology.

We partner with payers and at-risk providers, accepting capitated financial risk to care for their most vulnerable, high and rising risk members. Additionally, we invest in strategic partnerships with community-based and social services organizations, in some instances bringing them into the value equation through sub-capitation and performance-based compensation.

Over the next year we’ll grow quickly, including entering new markets, developing new partnerships, and expanding the size of our team. This role is a vital contributor to our success.

The role:

Healthcare data is notoriously messy and unstandardized. While companies and government are working on this problem, modern healthcare data management requires strong communication with external data partners and internal clients, robust data exploration and QA processes, and creative automation of analytics tasks. 

As a Software Engineer on Partner Success, you will work cross-functionally to ensure that our data is available, clean, and standardized. You will explore data science and analytics and data engineering, with a growth path into either of those options. Your work will support all of Cityblock’s operations, from delivering better care to accurately analyzing costs.

Responsibilities

• Have a strong interest in data, analytics, and automation, especially in applying software engineering principles to data science and analytics
• Build and maintain the integrations layer of our team’s data environment to make data standardized and easily accessible
• Integrate third party data sources as we add new partners, datasets and vendors
• Work closely with Product and Engineering to ensure upstream product model changes integrate well with our data model
• When needed, perform stakeholder related coordination such as setting up SFTP servers, coordinating around file delivery and quality
• Build data expertise, best practices and own data quality for all analytical data needs
• Define and manage SLA for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership
• Work with analysts and data scientists to understand their needs, and ensure our data evolves to support them
• Collaborate with data engineers to improve data ingestion and quality assurance infrastructure

Relevant Experience

• 1-2 years working with a data warehouse/BI-tool (Bigquery experience is a plus)
• Experience with self-service BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker or Mode)
• Knowledge of SQL
• Knowledge of Python
• AWS or GCP development and operations experience
• Experience working with an Analytics team or Data Engineering team
