We are now looking for a Solution Architect to join #TeamGreen in the US. The role can be based from our Denver-HQ, or remotely across the US. 


A Solution Architect is a role in the Customer Success team under the Support pillar. They are the primary point of direct and indirect technical interaction with Matillion’s customers. The SA role is a senior technical role that serves as an SME and works in close collaboration with Sales, Engineering and other teams internally, to provide our customers guidance and support for implementations of Matillion products.


What you'll be doing;

Support:

  • Provide post sales support on Matillion products
  • Handle cases elevated by Technical Support Engineering (Tier 1) team
  • Work with Escalations Manager on cases escalated by Sales teams
  • Help the team recreate customer reported issues
  • Follow process to open incidents with engineering; collaborate with engineering/product teams as and when needed
  • Lead discussions on support issues with customers
  • Participate in off-hours and weekend on-call rotation for Severity 1 support cases

Customer Interactions (SA On-demand):

  • Provide support to customers during the pre-sales cycle
  • Conduct on-boarding sessions for new premium support customers
  • Participate in the Prem Team to deliver premium support offerings
  • Lead Matillion Collaboration Sessions for CS as well as external technical teams
  • Deliver DevOps training for internal field teams as well as customers
  • Assist with customer implementations and deployments
  • Perform Log Analysis; deliver insights and outcomes in customer sessions

Internal Enablement:

  • Define and share best practices with the support organisation
  • Help, advise, train and enable internal Matillion teams in all areas of Matillion products
  • Conduct SA Office Hours to assist and answer questions regarding support cases raised by Technical Support Engineers
  • Onboard and mentor new joiners in the support organisation
  • Implement ‘Devops Centre of Excellence’
  • Work with Product, Engineering and Sales to ensure best practices for supported deployments of Matillion. (CF, Terraform, HA, RPM)
  • Provide best practice patterns for CI/CD pipeline management (GIT Integration)

Content:

  • Create articles to build KCS knowledge base
  • Review existing knowledge articles for accuracy and completeness
  • Create documents for best practices related to the product

Marketing/Events:

  • Work with the marketing team to deliver content for blogs related to product best practices and common use case patterns
  • Participate in webinars, as needed, about industry and product best practices
  • Participate in conferences; deliver booth demos

Essential Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in one or more of the following cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Deep knowledge of the data integration and data analytics architectures and design principles
  • Experience working with MPP databases: Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Teradata or Azure SQL DW
  • Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with Linux, CentOS or similar and shell scripting
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for continuous learning and upskilling in industry relevant tools and technologies
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and across organizational levels
  • Excellent communication skills and prior experience in client or customer facing roles

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in cloud infrastructure, networking & security fundamentals
  • Familiarity of continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows and implementations
  • Experience in Python, Spark, or similar coding languages
  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or math (qualifications may be waived in lieu of experience)

  • Passionate and enthusiastic about the latest information technology advancements
  • A self-confessed technology geek, with the ability to talk for hours about all things “data”
  • An intersection of technical skill and first class customer communication
  • Consultant style, with solid technical/engineering backgrounds and good customer-facing experience
  • Ability to thrive in an Agile environment
  • Empathy and/or diplomacy when dealing with novices to the Cloud

At Matillion, we are committed to providing competitive salaries in line with market standards. Our estimated compensation range for this position is $112,000 - $154,000, but the final salary will be based on your relevant skills, experience and qualifications demonstrated in the hiring process.
