Who We Are:

Narmi transforms America’s financial institutions into digital-first institutions. Over the past three years, we’ve grown 100%+ year-over-year, have built and implemented multiple products and have established one of the highest net revenue retention (i.e. how much revenue increases from your existing customer base) metrics in our industry. This means our customers love us and want to buy more products from us.

Our award-winning digital banking and digital account opening SaaS platforms have moved millions of dollars and opened thousands of accounts since inception. In fact, the #1 online bank in the country (Radius Bank), leverages Narmi for their entire digital bank. Another Narmi customer - Berkshire Bank - partnered with Narmi to deliver the best customer onboarding program in the country.

Narmi's Co-Founders previously ran a financial institution as CEO and CTO so understand the challenges and needs of the market first-hand. This gives us a unique competitive advantage and heavily influences our product and engineering efforts.

Who You Are:

We are a fast-growing company looking for our first VP of Engineering. You'll take ownership of our Engineering department and be a hands-on leader as we scale our technology, people, and business. You’ll work closely with our co-founders, team leaders, and engineering managers to identify short-term and long-term roadmaps and define and execute strategies to reach our engineering goals. You’re able to manage multiple teams of engineers, have experience scaling codebases, and can provide and implement best practices.

You’ll provide a vision for the composition of our Engineering teams as we grow and work hand-in-hand with our People Operations to attract top talent and identify hiring needs. You’ll be a mentor and coach to our engineers, facilitating their career growth and helping to impart and establish an outstanding culture for our Engineering department.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of combined engineering and leadership experience and a technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years managing engineering teams

  • 8+ years software engineering experience developing web and mobile applications, with a preference for B2B SaaS

  • A proven track record of scaling Engineering organizations in a start-up environment from 10 to 30+ by attracting, developing and retaining top talent

  • Technically respected and inspirational leader with a deep network of talented engineers and managers

  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical teams, as well as non-technical leaders and stakeholders.

  • You understand and can balance expectations and needs between engineering and the rest of the business

  • You are a builder, self-starter, and have a strong bias for action

  • Located or willing to work in New York City

  • United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain specific experience in fintech, SaaS, B2B or B2B2C products and services

  • Earlier stage scaling experience as an Engineering leader across funding rounds (i.e. taken engineering teams through a series A to series B, or Series B to Series C stage)

We believe that high-performing teams include people from different backgrounds and experiences who can challenge each other's assumptions with fresh perspectives. To that end, we actively seek a diverse pool of applicants, including those from historically marginalized groups.

An Insider's view of Narmi

How does your team reward individual success?

Part of what makes Narmi such a rewarding place to work is that I feel truly feel that I'm able to shape my own path at the company. Success here yields more opportunities for development and more opportunities to positively impact financial institutions across the company.

Elizabeth

Sales

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

If you are the CEO of a financial institution - your #1 priority is to increase deposits, accounts, and profitability in a digital-first manner.

Our customers have experienced industry-leading success such as 63% improvement in support response time and a 55% increase in new account applications.

We try to let the results speak for themselves.

Nikhil

Co-Founder

What makes someone successful on your team?

An entrepreneurial mindset. At Narmi we get to wear a lot of hats and it’s motivating to have an ever-changing breadth of impact on the company, but it also requires a good entrepreneurial attitude to be successful here. Entrepreneurial means that one is able to pivot when necessary, problem solve and ultimately take radical ownership.

Audrey

Product Marketing

What unique initiatives do you have that encourage innovation?

We are a very democratic company. Our direction is dictated not by an individual, but instead by all of our stakeholders.

As a company, we meet once a quarter to re-prioritize our medium-term product and engineering goals based on the input of the team, customers and everyday users.

Chris

Co-Founder

How does the company support your career growth?

Narmi has an open development process wherein I can be involved in any and every stage of engineering, from initial scope and design to release and client success. It’s a great feeling to receive positive customer feedback on a product that I had a hand in building out both the fundamentals and specific features of.

Software Engineer
