The ideal candidate is an established leader of leaders, responsible for managing the Global Site Reliability Engineering Team. You are responsible for defining the mission of your team, inspiring and motivating your team to pursue that mission, and setting strategic goals for them to achieve in that pursuit. You have a balanced understanding of business and technical objectives and your guidance is sought out because your decisions drive the best outcomes for both. You own a set of key performance indicators important to the business, and drive outcomes for the business by setting goals against these metrics. This leader takes end-to-end ownership and consistently delivers results in a fast-paced environment working with other stakeholders across the organization. They are a leader that the team loves to work with because they inspire, develop, and care for their team members.
Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead the Global Site Reliability Engineering organization within the Cloud Engineering & Automation organization.
  • Provide strategic and operational expertise to help scale up the business and execute vision/priorities
  • Develop and cultivate strong relationship with key stakeholders to drive the planning and execution of vital strategic and operational goals
  • Influence and champion process, tools and technology improvements to operate global large scale cloud based platform services
  • Collaborates with other engineering, product, content and marketing teams to prioritize, execute and operationalize service life cycle management in production at scale.
  • Drive initiatives to meet smart goal objectives ranging from app downloads, app usage,
  • retention, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and coach other members of the team and be a force multiplier
  • Implement quality assurance, load testing, failure mode testing to ensure high-reliability and performance of the apps, services, and infrastructure
  • Ensure SDLC processes are in place to support rapid iteration and frequent deployments
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes that drive velocity, adaptability & revenue.
  • Drive an excellent customer experience, continually raising the bar on functionality, usability,and simplicity.
  • Nurture and grow a culture of ownership, accountability, empathy, customer obsession, people development, influence without authority values across the organization.


Qualifications:

  • 10 - 15 years software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in a leadership role of manager of managers
  • Strong technical understanding of Kubernetes based microservice architectures, messaging services, DB services, api gateways, service mesh, repeatable self serve gitops based deployment pipelines.
  • Experience building and operating global scale large platform services in non-prod and prod environments
  • Experience establishing and improving data driven infrastructure and service KPI's such as performance, scale, availability, reliability, security
  • Experience building and growing team of SRE / DevOps skilled engineers with strong automation focus on self healing, scale up/ down, upgrades, blue-green/canary rollouts, failure / fault injection, load testing, capacity mgmt, on-call incident mgmt, etc
  • Experience working across cross functional engineering teams as stakeholders and partners consuming a global platform service
  • Experience leading and collaborating across global teams and customers
  • Strong communication skills, good balance of empathy, leading by example, player-coach as needed, influence and drive change.
  • Must be willing to travel (Up to 20%).


In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in New York City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $262,000 - $393,000 salary per year.
Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
