WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 


Appboy is looking for an engineering lead to run our internal tools products and manage escalation issues from customer support to the engineering organization. Appboy’s internal tools are software products that enable our customer success teams to troubleshoot and manage customer accounts, engineering teams to debug production data or respond to incidents, and customers to get a better view into how Appboy makes the decisions it does for message sending and data processing. This role will work with product management to define the roadmap for Appboy’s internal tools products.

We are seeking a strong application owner who is comfortable with full-stack development and implementation. This person must also be a strong individual contributor, as they will be the technical lead on our internal tools codebases and expected to perform code reviews and make technology decisions about our internal tools products. This role reports directly to the CTO.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Define the interface between customer success and the engineering organization for technical customer issues and manage escalations to engineers
  • Work with product management to define the roadmap for Appboy’s internal tools products
  • Take ownership of our internal tools products: perform code reviews, develop new features, and make technology decisions for our internal products, etc.
  • Management of a team of up to 5 engineering direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 4-6 years of experience as a software engineer
  • Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Ruby
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Past experience as a lead engineer
