Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic leader to head our newly formed Developer Experience (DevEx) Team, a high impact organization the company is investing in to redefine how we build software. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the roadmap that defines the developer journey from local setup to production deployment. You will lead a team of specialized engineers to eliminate friction, consolidate our AI strategy, and establish the Golden Path that enables our engineering org to scale.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and Roadmap
  • Team Vision: Define the long term strategy for the DevEx team, ensuring it remains a value add partner to the broader Engineering organization.

  • The Golden Path: Direct the creation of standardized IDE configurations, plugins, and bootstrapping processes to ensure every developer has a frictionless experience.

  • Investment and Impact: Identify high leverage opportunities to improve developer productivity and measure success through metrics like deployment frequency and lead time for changes.

AI Tooling and Consolidation
  • Unified AI Strategy: Lead the effort to audit and consolidate the existing landscape of AI tools. You will oversee the selection, budget, and implementation of a unified AI suite to ensure consistent adoption and measurable efficiency gains.

  • Modernization Planning: Coordinate the strategic rollout for language specific upgrades and versioning, particularly around TypeScript and core libraries.

Governance and Security
  • Library Governance: Collaborate with AppSec and Engineering leadership to manage and approve library versions, creating a balance between high velocity and enterprise security.

  • Process Standardization: Establish engineering standards and governance models that maintain consistency across all product teams.

Workflow Orchestration
  • CI/CD Logic: Oversee the design of YAML workflows and pipelines that developers interact with daily.

  • Tooling Evolution: Manage the transition from legacy systems to modern build tools like Turborepo to reduce build and test latencies.

Qualifications
  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams, specifically those focused on internal tooling, developer productivity, or platform engineering.

  • Technical Background: 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with a strong understanding of the TypeScript/Node.js ecosystem and monorepo architectures.

  • Tooling Literacy: Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions), and the current AI assisted engineering landscape.

  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to translate developer pain points into a prioritized technical roadmap.

  • Empathy Driven: A strong focus on the developer as a customer, with a passion for building internal products that people actually want to use.
