As an Engineering Manager on Lyft Media, you will work on one of Lyft’s newest and fastest growing lines of business focused on building the largest mobility advertising network. As a leader in Lyft Media you'll be working with the latest technologies and data-driven approaches to revolutionize how brands connect with consumers on the move. The team collaborates closely with product, design, sales, and marketing to deliver business-critical initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

    • Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and create personalized career development plans for team members.

    • Build and maintain a team culture that prioritizes inclusivity, respect, and continuous improvement.

  • Technical Leadership and Execution:

    • Provide technical guidance and leadership, ensuring adherence to best practices and high code quality within the team.

    • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the overall technical vision of Lyft Media, ensuring scalable and reliable systems.

    • Drive a balance between long-term architectural roadmaps and rapid iteration, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, scalable features.

    • Own the team's deliverables, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of projects that meet business objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate closely with product managers to define product roadmaps, prioritize features, and ensure alignment with business goals.

    • Work with engineers and product managers to maintain a prioritized backlog and establish clear short-term and long-term goals.

    • Utilize data-driven experimentation to iterate on features and optimize monetization.

    • Foster strong relationships and collaborate effectively with product, design, sales, marketing, and other relevant teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of business objectives.

  • Continuous Improvement and Hiring:

    • Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes.

    • Work closely with the Lyft recruiting team to attract and hire high-potential candidates from diverse backgrounds.  

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance
  • Experience launching consumer facing products and iterating through data-driven experimentation
  • Strong technical foundation in mobile or server engineering
  • Ad-Tech 
    • Experience in ad-tech is a plus, contributing to the development of innovative advertising solutions.
    • Contribute to the design and implementation of systems that support ad serving, targeting, and measurement.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $176,000-$242,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Your recruiter can share more information about the salary range specific to your working location and other factors during the hiring process.
