About the Role:

The USA Regional Team is dedicated to ensuring that customers sending money from the United States have a seamless, localized, and trusted experience. Your work will directly improve the lives of immigrants and their families while helping create the next generation of trusted, borderless financial services.

As the Engineering Manager in this team, you will lead the engineering team to perfect the end-to-end customer journey for our US customers—from onboarding and payment experiences to compliance and delivery. Building at a global scale, you will deliver intuitive and high-impact experiences that solidify Remitly as the most customer-centric remittance provider in the USA.

You will:
  • Manage a team of engineers to design, develop, and deliver engineering projects and solutions that meet business objectives and customer needs.

  • Partner with product managers, business managers, designers, and other cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize projects and initiatives that drive business growth and improvement.

  • Drive the technical strategy for the US regional experience by translating high-level business goals into actionable OKRs and roadmaps.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and improvement.

  • Report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Americas Regional & Growth engineering teams

You have:
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role, with a proven track record of managing small teams and delivering complex projects.

  • Professional experience as a software developer building customer-facing mobile applications for iOS/Android and scalable services on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work across with cross-functional partners and across engineering teams to deliver impactful features for our customers.

  • Proven skills in recruiting and workforce strategy, including sourcing, interviewing, and closing engineering candidates.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and technologies.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180,000-$210,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
