Role Overview

The Enterprise Sales Engineer is a senior pre‑sales and solution‑design role, partnering closely with Enterprise Sales and Account Management to articulate and demonstrate the value of Rimes’ investment data managed services and investment intelligence platform.

  • Own the end‑to‑end technical sales process for complex enterprise engagements involving Rimes’ managed data solutions & investment intelligence & analytics platform
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to CIOs, COOs, Heads of Investment Data & Technology, Risk, Performance and Operations
  • Lead discovery with clients that goes beyond requirements gathering to expose structural data, governance, and operating‑model weaknesses
  • Lead engagements across US and Canada regions
  • Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Solutions, the Enterprise Sales Engineer plays a critical role in shaping client engagements, from early discovery through to solution design, demonstrations, proof‑of‑value, and transition to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Client Discovery

  • Partner with the sales and account management teams by leading technical and functional discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand data, governance, technology and operating‑model challenges across their investment lifecycle
  • Design end‑to‑end Rimes solutions that support enterprise data management, portfolio oversight, rebalancing, data quality, operational resilience, and regulatory obligations

Solution Architecture

  • Design and articulate enterprise‑grade investment data architectures leveraging Rimes’ capabilities across:
    • Multi‑asset investment data management
    • Benchmarks, indices, reference data, pricing, ESG and research
    • Performance, risk, attribution, and regulatory reporting workflows
    • Data platform delivery and integration, including data lakehouse architectures (Databricks, Delta Lake), cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Azure Synapse) etc.
  • Translate highly nuanced client challenges (e.g. private markets data, custodian transitions, operating model evolution, regulatory compliance, internal vs outsourced models) into a coherent solution architecture

Pre‑Sales Execution

  • Own the technical pre‑sales engagement for Rimes solutions
    • Investment Data Managed Services, including benchmarks, indices, ref data, pricing, research, ESG, corporate actions
    • Investment Intelligence platform supporting Total Portfolio View (TPV), rebalancing under Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) and the transition to Total Portfolio Approach (TPA)
  • Deliver scenario‑driven and compelling product demonstrations that mirror real client operating models rather than generic functionality walkthroughs
  • Lead high‑stakes proof‑of‑concepts, balancing depth, speed, and commercial impact
  • Articulate measurable business outcomes, not just technical success

Commercial & Proposal Support

  • Partner with Sales and Account Management to position Rimes strategically against incumbent vendors and internal build options
  • Own the technical narrative across RFPs, RFIs and executive presentations - not just answering questions, but shaping evaluation criteria
  • Capture detailed client requirements into Statements of Work and support accurate scoping of implementation and managed services

Internal Collaboration

  • Ensure a seamless handover of pre‑sales engagements to Professional Services and implementation teams by providing context on solution intent, client priorities, and success criteria to support efficient implementation
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams
  • Contribute to internal enablement through knowledge sharing, solution artefacts, and best‑practice frameworks

Product & Market Feedback

  • Act as a conduit between clients, Sales, Product, and Engineering by qualifying product enhancement requirements and sharing market intelligence to help evolve Rimes’ go-to-market strategies.

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Strong experience in financial services, investment management, or capital markets
  • Deep understanding of investment data domains and operational workflows (pricing, benchmarks, corporate actions, reference data, analytics)
  • Proven experience in pre‑sales, solutions engineering, or consulting roles within enterprise technology or data platforms
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive stakeholders
  • Experience of North American clients unique challenges including exposure to asset managers and asset owners
  • Familiarity with modern data platform technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, or cloud-native data warehouses; ability to articulate Rimes’ data delivery within clients’ existing data lakehouse and cloud architectures.

Salary Benchmark: $165,000 - $175,000
