About the Role:
Baird is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Equity Derivatives Sales Trader to join our Institutional Sales & Trading team in New York. This role is ideal for a proven options trader with strong market acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to build and sustain trusted client relationships. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while contributing to the continued growth of Baird’s equity derivatives platform.

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Drive commission revenue by leveraging client relationships, market insight, trading ideas, and the broader Baird platform

  • Serve as a subject matter expert by educating clients and internal client-facing teams on equity options capabilities

  • Develop, communicate, and execute trading strategies informed by market trends, volatility dynamics, and underlying asset fundamentals

  • Monitor market conditions, regulatory developments, and emerging trends within the equity derivatives space

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, counterparties, and other market participants

What You’ll Bring to Baird:

  • 3–7 years of successful experience in equity derivatives trading, with a strong focus on options

  • FINRA licenses: SIE, Series 7, 57 and 63 active and Series 4 completed within 6 months of start date.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong industry relationships, with potential for transferable business considered a plus

  • Deep understanding of options pricing models, volatility dynamics, and risk management techniques

  • Comprehensive knowledge of equity and derivative markets, including underlying fundamentals and macroeconomic drivers

  • Proven ability to make sound, timely decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure trading environments

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex trading concepts and strategies

  • Experience using industry-standard options trading platforms and risk management systems

  • Strong quantitative, mathematical, and statistical skills, including the ability to develop and apply quantitative trading models

Compensation and Total Rewards Package:

  • $150,000 -$200,000 annual salary range

  • Bonus potential annually
