About this role

The BlackRock Global Markets – U.S. ETF Markets team is responsible for growing and protecting the trading of the US iShares product suite. We are passionate about leading all aspects of primary and secondary market ETF trading! We seek to identify and mitigate trading frictions that could impact the market quality of our products. In addition, we work alongside ETF market participants, such as liquidity providers, exchanges and regulators to strengthen and advance the ETF trading ecosystem. 

 

Your role and impact 

 

This Individual will be responsible for protecting and growing the secondary trading of iShares ETFs. Our goal is to improve ETF market quality while ensuring investor protections are in place for the benefit of our clients. You will coordinate with external partners including, ETF liquidity providers and US equity exchanges, to identify and mitigate any client trading risks. You will collaborate with partner teams across BlackRock on new products, during stressed market events, when performing due diligence on the trading efficiency of our current ETF offering, as well as ensuring a smooth transition to trading when launching new ETFs. 

Your responsibilities  

  • Be an ETF trading subject matter authority and demonstrate in-depth product knowledge to promote efficient ETF trading and differentiate BlackRock ETFs from competitor funds and other investment vehicles. 

  • Monitor BlackRock ETF trading daily, identify and raise client and business risks and coordinate with the business, external market makers and equity exchanges on resolution. 

  • Conduct quantitative data analysis to facilitate business decision making and build data sets from multiple sources to produce insights for management, sales teams, and clients. 

  • Collaborate with external market makers and the equity exchanges and collectively drive strategies which can improve ETF trading efficiency. 

  • Partner with internal teams including product engineering and portfolio engineering to implement ETF product design and trading process improvements.  

  • Monitor articles, white papers, and blogs that highlight potential issues with ETFs and help to coordinate a thoughtful response, ensuring consistency with our global message 

You have… 

  • 2-5 years proven experience with an understanding of ETFs and experience working closely with internal and external partners. 

  • Risk management mentality, able to identify and action client and business risk in a timely manner  

  • Confirmed relationship-building abilities, particularly influencing internal and external partners 

  • Have a high level of motivation, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to function well under time pressure 

  • High degree of professional discretion, accountability, and judgment. Critical that person is adaptable, flexible and thrives in a team environment! 

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$116,000.00 - USD$155,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
