As our EVP, Account Management, you will… 

Lead MERGE’s flagship Pharma and MedTech portfolio as a core business builder, senior strategic advisor, and growth architect. In this high-impact executive role, you’ll unite cross-functional teams across CX, technology, media, and creative to deliver transformative solutions for our clients. You’ll deepen relationships with C-suite stakeholders, navigate complex pharma category shifts, and ensure top-tier client success and sustainable profitability—all while staying agile in your approach, sharp in your execution, and humble in how you lead.

What You’ll Do

Portfolio Strategy & Organic Growth

  • Drive the Strategy: Define and execute the multi-year vision and annual growth strategy for the Pharma & MedTech portfolio, presenting directly to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Partner for Growth: Collaborate with the Division Managing Director, your direct reports, and the Business Development team to convert executive vision into targeted, high-yielding business plans.
  • Own the Business: Direct full portfolio P&L management, driving revenue expansion, margin optimization, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Expand Our Reach: Lead pitch strategies and major organic growth opportunities, cross-selling the full spectrum of MERGE capabilities including creative, media, tech platforms, brand strategy, experience design, and data/analytics.

Senior Client Partnership & Strategic Advisory

  • Advise with Impact: Serve as a trusted advisor to CMOs, VPs of Marketing, Omnichannel Tech Leaders, and senior commercial executives, helping them anticipate category disruptions and modernize patient, caregiver, and HCP engagement.
  • Translate Insights to Action: Turn complex healthcare marketplace insights into innovative, tech-enabled marketing and customer experience strategies.
  • Lead with Diplomacy: Navigate high-stakes client dynamics, tough conversations, and complex negotiations with composure, grace, and executive diplomacy.

Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Empower & Mentor Teams: Structure, manage, and mentor integrated account teams by modeling strategic leadership, accountability, integrity, and a growth mindset. You bring a humble, supportive approach to leadership that builds trust and keeps talent thriving.
  • Unite Disciplines: Orchestrate seamless collaboration across agency disciplines to consistently deliver "WOW" work that balances creative ambition with measurable commercial impact.
  • Run a Lean, Agile Operation: Oversee forecasting, capacity planning, and resource deployment to ensure maximum productivity, operational efficiency, and team agility.

Agency Representation & Industry Visibility

  • Champion the Brand: Serve as a key brand ambassador for MERGE across industry conferences, networking events, and thought leadership platforms.
  • Build Strong Networks: Cultivate external networks to track healthcare best practices, build strategic partnerships, and identify prospective business leads.

Who You Are

  • Experienced Leader: You bring 15–20+ years of progressive, agency-side client management experience leading large-scale, multi-channel pharma and/or medtech accounts.
  • P&L Owner: You have a proven track record of managing substantial portfolio P&Ls with aggressive revenue and margin performance goals.
  • Healthcare & CX Expert: You possess deep familiarity with pharma/medtech regulatory landscapes, HCP and patient journeys, and contemporary digital CX/media ecosystems.
  • Agile Pitch Leader: You have a demonstrated history of winning major client pitches, adapting quickly to market changes, and expanding multi-million-dollar account relationships.
  • Humble Executive: You bring exceptional communication, negotiation, and high-conflict resolution skills at the C-suite level—leaving ego at the door to build authentic, trusted partnerships.
  • Lifelong Learner: You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent executive leadership experience and bring a continuous curiosity to master new tools, trends, and team dynamics.

Our Hybrid Philosophy

For this role, we prioritize hybrid candidates in Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Kansas City, MO; Raleigh, NC; and St. Louis, MO, but may consider candidates near other MERGE hubs based on the role and team’s needs. If fully remote is listed as an option, we are also open to U.S.-based candidates who would work remotely.

Hybrid work is our default approach. We value time together for collaboration, relationship building, and key moments. Managers and team leaders determine in-person expectations based on what best supports their team, clients, and business needs. Some teams and roles require more regular in-person presence than others.

MERGE has hubs in Chicago, New York City, Boston, Kansas City, Raleigh, Denver, Atlanta, and St. Louis. Regardless of work arrangement, team members may be required to travel to a MERGE hub for meetings, team gatherings, events, or other business needs.

MERGE believes in transparency and equity. In accordance with state regulations, we’re proud to include salary ranges in our job postings to ensure fair compensation practices.

The salary range for this role is $168,000 - $247.000, based on the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
