Instrument is a design and technology company. We build brands, products, and experiences that move businesses forward—by making the complex simple.

For over 20 years, we’ve partnered with companies like Google, ServiceNow, Uber, Eventbrite, and ŌURA, helping them navigate change, launch new ideas, and grow with intention.

Our work spans Brand, Marketing, and Product, but what defines us is how we work. We bring strategy, design, and engineering together from the start, moving quickly from idea to execution and refining as we go. We aim to do great work and be great to work with, because both matter.

We’re a collaborative, hands-on team with roots in Portland and New York and a distributed presence across the U.S. and Europe. We build teams around the needs of the work, staying nimble without sacrificing craft.

We value curiosity, perspective, and continuous learning, and we’re committed to building an inclusive environment where people can do their best work.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.

We're looking for a seasoned Executive Producer to lead a significant portfolio of retained work for one of our largest and most strategic client partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys building trusted client relationships, and knows how to lead multidisciplinary teams through ambiguity.

You'll oversee a diverse mix of initiatives spanning brand strategy, identity systems, digital experiences, websites, campaigns, executive communications, and emerging technologies. Working closely with clients, creative leaders, strategists, and producers, you'll help shape both the work and the way it's delivered.

This is an opportunity to lead a mature, high-impact client relationship where no two days look the same.

West coast candidates required

What You'll Do

  • Lead a portfolio of complex, multidisciplinary work across brand strategy, identity systems, digital experiences, websites, campaigns, and executive communications.
  • Serve as the senior delivery partner for a strategic retained client relationship, building trust with stakeholders while guiding work from early planning through successful delivery.
  • Partner with Strategy, Design, Production, Technology, and Growth to scope new opportunities, develop delivery plans, and bring ambitious ideas to life.
  • Lead multiple concurrent workstreams, balancing shifting priorities while maintaining clarity, quality, and momentum across teams.
  • Drive operational excellence by managing project health, staffing, budgets, timelines, and delivery risks.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships that enable teams to do their best work and deliver exceptional client outcomes.
  • Help strengthen long-term client partnerships by identifying opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience leading complex client engagements in an agency, consultancy, or other client services environment.
  • Several years of experience as an Executive Producer or equivalent senior delivery leader, with a track record of independently leading large-scale programs.
  • Experience managing retained client relationships with multiple concurrent initiatives and evolving priorities.
  • A collaborative leadership style with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience partnering across strategy, creative, design, content, technology, and production teams to deliver integrated work.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience with project scoping, budgeting, forecasting, and financial stewardship.
  • Working knowledge of digital delivery—including websites and digital experiences—and an understanding of how multidisciplinary teams bring them to life.
  • The ability to bring calm, clarity, and sound judgment to ambiguous situations while helping teams navigate change with confidence.
