Drive commercial expansion for brick-and-mortar locations end-to-end: market research, site selection, lease support, launch coordination, stakeholder management, experiments on new service models, and data-driven recommendations. Regular travel to support launches and on-the-ground operations.

Fortell is a deep tech consumer hardware company. We build breakthrough hearing aids (powered by AI on custom silicon) that transform how people experience sound and connect with the world. We came out of stealth last December and the consumer response has been overwhelming. Every day, we hear profound anecdotes from our customers and their loved ones: a dad who’s grateful to hear his daughter’s wedding vows; a college student who can finally join conversations in the dining hall; a couple that’s reconnecting after years of drifting apart. Our engineering team is hard at work building the next generation of life changing technology, and we’re hiring exceptional operators to scale our distribution.

We are a Series C startup backed by Thrive Capital, Valor Equity Partners, Founders Fund, and Lux. We are a lean team of about 65 engineers, builders, designers, and clinicians who move fast and build with intention. We’re hiring an early-career generalist to help drive commercial expansion. This is a high-ownership role for someone who is excited to operate at the intersection of strategy and execution: helping us expand our brick-and-mortar footprint, run experiments around new service models and partnerships, and use operational data to shape how and where we grow.

Who you are

  • 2–4 years of experience in a role that required strong problem solving, execution, and ownership; this could include startups, operations, consulting, investing, business operations, expansion, real estate, or other highly analytical and execution-oriented environments

  • Extremely organized and reliable, with excellent follow-through; comfortable managing many parallel workstreams without losing track of details

  • Excited by ambiguity and willing to figure things out without a perfect playbook

  • High ownership mindset; you don't say "that's not my job" — if something needs to happen, you make it happen

  • Willing and excited to travel regularly to different markets and locations

  • Strong analytical thinker who can use data to inform decisions

What you’ll do

  • Support expansion of new brick-and-mortar locations from soup to nuts, including market research, competitive analysis, site selection, lease process support, buildout coordination, launch planning, and post-launch problem solving

  • Drive special projects related to commercial expansion, testing new formats, service models, partnerships, and go-to-market approaches

  • Build frameworks to evaluate what's working, synthesize learnings, and translate them into actionable recommendations

  • Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders including operators, brokers, landlords, contractors, partners, and cross-functional teammates

  • Build and maintain clear project plans, trackers, and operating cadences across multiple simultaneous workstreams

  • Travel to locations as needed to support launches, resolve issues, and improve operations on the ground

  • Partner with creative teams to shape how the brand comes to life in physical spaces

  • Step into ambiguous problems, structure them, and move them forward with limited oversight
