The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in propulsion integration, LO design principles, and systems engineering, and will work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure propulsion system performance while maintaining stringent signature, thermal, and structural requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
- LO propulsion integration activities for advanced platforms across concept, design, test, and qualification phases
- Develop and validate propulsion system LO architectures that meet performance, LO signature, and thermal management requirements
- Conduct trade studies, signature modeling, and sensitivity analyses for inlet, nozzle, and exhaust treatments
- Interface with aerodynamicists, structures, materials, thermal management, and signature engineering teams to ensure cohesive design solutions
- Define requirements, perform risk assessments, and establish verification/validation plans for propulsion integration items
- Support hardware design reviews (PDR/CDR), test planning, and ground/flight test execution to verify LO and propulsion performance
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the LO discipline
- Produce and review technical documentation, specifications, and interface control documents (ICDs)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 5+ years of related work experience and a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
- Demonstrated experience with propulsion integration on low-observable or stealth aircraft programs
- Strong understanding of LO fundamentals: radar cross-section (RCS) control, IR signature management, and materials/coatings impacts
- Hands-on experience with inlet/nozzle design, exhaust suppression/infrared reduction techniques, and internal/external flow path management
- Proficiency with LO propulsion/airframe integration analyses and tools (e.g., CEM, signature modeling, thermal analysis)
- Experience creating technical specifications, interface requirements, and verification plans
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in relevant field
- Experience with multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) and integrated signatures analysis tools
- Familiarity with materials for LO applications and manufacturing/assembly constraints
- Propulsion integration and systems engineering
- LO signature control (RCS and IR)
- Signature modeling/data reduction software experience
- Test planning and flight test support
- Requirements development and ICD creation
