Role Summary:
As Thunder expands its AWS partnership, we’re growing our Federal team and looking for an Amazon Connect Developer to help us build and optimize cutting-edge cloud solutions.
This role is not just about writing code—you will be playing a crucial role in developing cutting-edge next-generation contact centers leveraging Artificial Intelligence as part of the solution. You’ll play a key role in architecting, optimizing, and managing advanced contact center solutions while working closely with cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in AWS implementations, a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence, hold multiple AWS certifications, and demonstrate expertise in designing, deploying, and optimizing scalable cloud solutions. At Thunder, we value technical expertise, but we’re also looking for team players with a growth mindset, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation. Responsibilities:
- Architect and build AWS Connect infrastructure using a service-oriented architecture and AWS core services (API Gateway, Lambda, Lex and Nova2Sonic (Voice/Chatbots) , Polly, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Bedrock, and more).
- Develop automation scripts (such as CloudFormation) to optimize operational processes, serverless functions, and cloud integrations.
- Analyze business processes and translate them into Amazon Connect standalone and AWS-integrated Salesforce solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage AWS and Salesforce integrated projects.
- Stay updated with AWS and Salesforce releases, leveraging new features to improve cloud and CRM functionality.
- Conversational AI design and orchestration:
- Agentic Orchestration: "Design and deploy autonomous self-service workflows using Amazon Connect Agentic CX Designer (ACXD) and traditional Connect Contact Flows, orchestrating multi-step task completion, API integrations, and seamless escalation to Salesforce Service Cloud Voice agents."
- Real-Time Voice AI: "Prototype and integrate next-generation voice AI architectures utilizing speech-to-speech foundation models (such as Amazon Nova 2 Sonic on Amazon Bedrock) alongside Lex and Contact Lens to deliver natural, low-latency conversational experiences."
- CI/CD for Conversational AI: "Utilize the ACXD SDK and AWS CloudFormation/CDK to manage version control, testing, and automated deployment pipelines for conversational applications."
Qualifications:
- Per contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- At least one AWS Associate-level certification
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
- Salesforce Certifications (a plus):
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I
- Salesforce Consultant Certifications in Cloud areas of expertise
- Experience with APEX development and Salesforce platform customization.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Contact Flow design for Partner Telephony (mapping CTR/Contact Attributes to Salesforce Voicecall records).
- Real-time transcription integration, Contact Lens, and real-time agent assist.
- Building custom Lightning Web Components (LWCs) for Omni-Channel and voice call record layouts (not just Apex).
- Experience or strong foundational interest in Amazon Connect Agentic CX Designer (ACXD) or other agentic framework architectures (e.g., Bedrock Agents).
- Hands-on exposure to speech-to-speech AI models (e.g., Amazon Nova 2 Sonic) or generative voice AI implementations.
- Familiarity with programmatic conversational lifecycle management using the ACXD SDK.
- Strong language skills - fluency in English, both written and verbal.
