BAE Systems is currently searching for a Field Service Engineer or high-level Technician with preferred experience working on the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) test program, to support integration testing of SWS subsystems. This person will serve on-site to support Columbia Class Test Engineering/Shipyard Installation Test Program tasks in Groton CT and Quonset Point RI.
The successful candidate will have the primary task of providing technical support to the conduct of key test procedures and collecting test conduct metrics at the Electric Boat Shipyard. Data collected during test conduct (dockside and at-sea) will be analyzed to determine compliance with coordinated requirements and operational functions. Test analysis reports generated upon completion of procedures will be the vehicle to report weapon system capabilities and test results to the government Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) representative. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. Examples of tasks include
- Attend planning and status meetings and conferences, and communicate key events and milestones as needed
- Assist in developing and maintaining Ordnance Documentation and instructions in conjunction with SSP, NAVSEA, SUBMEPP, and contractor organizations
- Work with Customer to identify needs and concerns and convert needs to definable program / project tasks
- Act as technical interface with SSP regarding the implementation of the SITP, system level testing and certification for Columbia Strategic Weapons Systems
- Observe/participate/analyze tests applicable to the System Contractor
- Write Test Analysis Reports applicable to the System Contractor
