THE ROLE

We are looking to hire our first accountant to join our growing Finance & Operations team. Reporting into the Director, Finance & Operations, this person would oversee all aspects of our day-to-day financial operations. You’ll work closely with our Director, Finance & Operations on financial modeling and planning while also being responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly reporting for the internal teams, investors, and lenders. You’ll play an instrumental role in helping transform Mack Weldon’s financial operations from that of a small startup to a sizeable business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Prepare monthly & quarterly financial reports for internal teams, investors, and lenders
• Execute month close process: prepare data files for external accountants and review uncategorized transactions, inventory reconciliation, and merchant account reconciliation
• Manage accounts payable process: verify invoices with vendor relationship manager; import invoices into Bill.com and Quickbook; produce weekly accounts payable report and get internal approval, and pay approved invoices each week in Bill.com or Chase Commercial Online.
• Manage accounts receivable process: generate and send invoices for wholesale deals; manage vendor relationships to chase down payments; verify payments against invoices, and record those payments in Quickbooks.
• Reconcile monthly inventory: compare purchase orders to receiving reports to invoices to ensure that the units we ordered were received and the costs we agreed to are what we were invoiced
• Help put together annual budgets and manage the monthly financial model against those budgets, adjusting for actual results each month and reforecasting future months

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working toward CPA
• 4+ years of overall accounting experience; e-commerce or startup experience is a plus
• Master of Microsoft Excel and proficient with Microsoft Office and G Suite
• Familiarity with various accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Bill.com)
• Analytical mindset, data-driven, and detail oriented
• Desire to seek out and implement process improvements to drive team’s efficiency
• Ability to multitask and deliver on a high volume of projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with clients and vendors
