What will you do at Nomad?

In your role, you will manage a diverse scope of responsibilities focused on accounting and tax compliance functions. You will seek opportunities to drive process improvements and explore new solutions necessary to build a solid foundation for Nomad’s success and growth. You will work as part of our Finance team and will collaborate with other cross-functional teams and external agencies as the work demands. Your responsibilities will include:

Accounting:

● Preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

● Manage the monthly close process, prepare work papers and track and close open items.

● Facilitate day to day accounting to ensure the transactions get accounted for in a timely and accurate manner.

● Review and analyze detailed financial reports and other financial data to ensure accuracy and proper classification.

● Manage cash receipts and disbursements to ensure transactions get validated.

● Provide support to team members, triage issues, and ensure workflow runs smoothly.

● Assist with audit and coordinate information and communication exchange with auditors.

Compliance:

● Oversee tax filing and reporting to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

● Ensure tax-related notices and inquiries from authorities are reviewed, prioritized, resolved, and responded to timely.

● Research on any tax issues and new developments and collaborate with payroll providers and tax advisors on items requiring their attention.

● Perform other tasks like data collection and work paper preparation for providing to the tax advisor.

● Maintain compliance calendar and oversee tax provision, extensions, tax payments, and other miscellaneous filings (sales tax, property tax, etc.).

● Assist with other projects as needed

Who are you?

● You have a Bachelor's degree in accounting

● You are a CPA

● 5+ years of accounting and multi-state tax experience (public or corporate)

● Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, tax laws, and regulations

● High proficiency with spreadsheets

● Good research, analytical, and organization skills

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● You are able to set and meet deadlines

● You're detail-oriented but are able to see the big picture

● You’re flexible to changing business needs

● You have demonstrable ability to prioritize: You intake the needs of your constituents, ask questions, and prioritize accordingly

● You possess a high degree of professionalism: You will interact daily with the people we aim to delight
