About the Role
This role will involve Accounting responsibilities, such as month end close duties, assisting with the preparation of budgets/forecasts, and consolidation of financial reports. The Revenue and Trails reporting associate will be on the Corporate Finance team.
Responsibilities
- Monthly revenue and trails reporting and calculating
- Maintaining A/R and A/P ledger schedules
- Recording monthly revenue and trails in NetSuite
- Review contracts and Fund Documents to ensure completeness of earned revenue and trails payable.
- Recording of receipt of revenue and payment of trails within the GL
- Preparation of Financials
- Focus on P&L revenue and trails preparation and analysis
- Preparation of cash reconciliation monthly and calculating free cash flow as needed.
- Preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintenance of financial reporting schedules
- Identifying and remediating process gaps and implementing effective internal controls; Improve documentation of internal control processes
- Liaising with other departments to obtain accuracy of financial information
- Assisting in completing special projects as needed such as implementation of new accounting software
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of Corporate Accounting experience within the Financial Services industry.
- Familiarity with Feeder Fund structure or Fund Accounting experience would be highly preferred.
- Familiarity with NetSuite preferred but not required.
- Experience in the understanding of fund legal documents including LPAs, PPMs, Side Letters, etc.
- Experience with trailing commissions preferred.
- Knowledge of booking journal entries and consolidation of financial statements required.
- Degree in Accounting required
- CPA license preferred.
- Proficient with Excel and Power Point
- Ability to manage large sets of data and be able to implement checks and balances.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
