What we’re looking for:

In our next phase of growth, we are looking for a Director of FP&A to join the team! Reporting to the CFO, the Director of FP&A will lead forecasting, budgeting, performance measurement, and financial analysis for Wonders. This position will provide business and financial support to a high-growth, venture-backed technology company focused on the restaurant industry.

What you’ll accomplish

  • You will maintain and enhance Wonders short and long-term planning models to produce monthly financial projections and a financial performance package for the CFO and management team.
  • You will own the budget and all regular reporting of financial and operational data which impacts financial performance.
  • You will produce a monthly presentation regarding financial performance, variance analysis, updates to rolling forecast, key trends, and KPIs, with input from senior management/department leaders.
  • You will spearhead the effort to reduce results variability, analyzing root causes and driving forecasting improvements and potential for cost reductions/improvements in profitability.
  • You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of complex revenue and cost drivers for the company and all departments.
  • You will develop financial models and derive analysis to support transactions, strategic business planning and operational modeling.
  • You will train/mentor colleagues on the presentation of financial data, analysis, and business cases.
  • You will lead quarterly and annual budgeting, planning, and financial management activities
  • You will analyze research data and synthesize raw information into insights and recommendations and act as the last line of defense before data is finalized or released to stakeholders.

About you

  • You have a bachelor's degree and more than five years of experience in finance or accounting or a related area. 
  • You have financial modeling expertise (Excel and Google Sheets) and application to the development of budgets, business cases, financial reports, and metrics.
  • You have a deep understanding of management and financial accounting principles (including GAAP/accrual vs cash accounting) along with ERP system knowledge, particularly Netsuite.
  • You have experience with financial/business analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and budgeting software tools.
  • You are able to form strong cross functional relationships and have demonstrated success working with team members in multiple locations, including international.
  • You have the demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication along with a superior attention to detail, and time management skills..

  • You have experience in a consumer driven industry with a passion for the customer.
  • You have earned an MBA.
  • You have high growth startup experience.
  • You have a roll up your sleeves mentality with current or prior experience working in a fast paced, collaborative, highly ambiguous environment frequently wearing more than one hat.
