About the Position:
We’re looking for a professional and driven Junior Accountant to join our New York City team. This role reports directly to the Director of Finance and will work closely with the other members of the operations team. The Junior Accountant will work primarily on accounts receivable. The role also encompasses other elements of daily processing, monthly closing and account analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable
- Sending out monthly invoices
- Following up on unpaid invoices
- Posting of Invoices and Payments to Accounting system
- Interacting with clients on Billing questions
- Annual Evaluation of allowance for bad debts
- Bank reconciliations
- Cash transactions monthly spreadsheet and journal entry
- Other monthly and quarterly journal entries as needed
- Assist Director of Finance with annual audit
- Ad Hoc Projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Internship - 3 years’ relevant experience
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a strong communicator both written and verbally
- Excellent organization skills and client service attitude
- Detail oriented and self-motivated
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
