Narmi's Co-Founders previously ran a financial institution as CEO and CTO so understand the challenges and needs of the market first-hand. This gives us a unique competitive advantage and heavily influences our product and engineering efforts.
Narmi is going through unprecedented growth. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate is a resourceful problem solver who will take ownership of critical accounting tasks. They have a strong desire to learn and grow professionally. As the first Senior Accountant at Narmi, they will help lay the foundation for what the future of Narmi’s Accounting department will look like!
Responsibilities:
- Perform day to day accounting duties for the following key areas; cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses and other duties as assigned
- Lead the monthly close process, support gathering data, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead end-to-end billing, with a focus on revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues in a timely manner
- Support the Finance and Accounting Lead for ad hoc projects and initiatives
- Work cross-functionally on projects with HR, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing and Operations
- Work as part of a cohesive team that will be expected to successfully meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to changes in business environment to ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting in conformance with GAAP
- Assist in annual audits as well as other audits by outside agencies
- Support the development and maintenance of accounting policies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in (B.A./B.S.) with a focus in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience; Big 4 experience and/or CPA is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and financial systems, processes, and all applicable accounting and tax standards
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- The ability to deep dive into solving problems and data inconsistency
- Advanced microsoft excel skills with focus on efficiency / process improvement
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for building strong relationships across all levels of the organization
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple functions in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects
- Flexible and willing to learn new skills
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Working knowledge of Xero or Quickbooks, a plus
- Experience with Enterprise SaaS and familiarity with terms such as ARR, NDR, CAC, LTV
- Understanding of ASC 606 in relation to SaaS business, a plus
