Latch is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for processing and reviewing complex contracts for proper revenue recognition as well as revenue reporting. The position will help with revenue recognition processes, revenue-related financial statement disclosures, system implementation, control execution, and audits. The position collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and Operations regularly.
Responsibilities:
- Review complex revenue contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP, ASC 606 and internal policies
- Be a key point person for providing business value added insights and a thought partner to help scale the revenue operations Proactively identify areas of operational improvement and exhibits a willingness to collaborate cross functionally to improve processes & systems
- Responsible for the review of various accounting close entries including revenue recognition and related allowances, deferred revenue, and sales commission expense
- Collaborate with product and business process teams to execute on new product testing within our financial systems
- Ad hoc projects and technical accounting research as needed
- Assist with the implementation, compliance, and maintenance of Sarbanes Oxley requirements around revenue recognition
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of public/private experience with a strong background in ASC606, ideally with experience in SaaS
- Knowledge of US GAAP with ability to recognize and accurately record revenue in accordance with US GAAP
- Experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and complex excel formulas
- Understanding of systems including Salesforce, NetSuite, and Stripe is a plus
- Undergraduate and/or Graduate Degree in Accounting4+ years of public/private experience with a strong background in ASC606, ideally with experience in SaaS
