Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Technical Operations, Engineering, Cyber Security, and AI within NBCU Operations and Technology division is an $900M+ operating cash flow ($1.2B FCF). The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, and London.
The Finance Analyst will play an integral role on the Engineering Finance team, which oversees the consolidation and analysis of financial information (EBITDA, Capital, Headcount, Allocations) across multiple lines of business in critical and emerging technologies. This position offers unique exposure to operational and strategic planning that has an enterprise-wide impact. This role will report into the VP of Engineering Finance within the Engineering Finance organization.
Responsibilities

  • Support in all aspects of annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, monthly pacing, analyzing key metrics and trends, and summarizing for executive level presentations for support areas
  • Support monthly close deliverables (including monthly allocations, accruals, and company-wide cross charges) and ensuring timeliness and accuracy of all close activities
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data (including headcount analysis), and provide regular reporting on financial performance, variances, and trends
  • Build effective relations with Engineering Finance team and external Operations and Technology Finance teams
  • Work with relevant Operational teams on Purchase Order operations and analysis
  • Maintain standard operating procedure documentation
  • Perform various ad-hoc analyses
  • Bring a collaborative and hands-on approach to the work


Qualifications
Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large amounts of data in SAP, excel, other financial systems.
  • Solid financial and analytical skills including the ability to create financial models and efficiently communicate results
  • Ability to adapt and work well in a fast-paced, results-oriented and rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, great team player
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, be effective and decisive under pressure
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite products - particularly Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Team Player with the ability to function in a cross functional environment and willingness to jump into projects to meet department goals
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve independently
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to deliver on multiple project assignments, meet tight deadlines and be effective under pressure

  • Entertainment / Media / Technology experience preferred
  • SAP or Essbase knowledge preferred with exposure to BPC a plus


This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
