As a Data Strategist within our Data Strategy Group, you will be part of a team that is responsible for finding, validating and increasing the overall awareness and effectiveness of external datasets as it relates to trading at Jump. The ideal candidate will thrive in connecting business objectives with data-driven solutions, ensuring data is leveraged effectively to deliver insights, drive alpha, and sustain a competitive advantage.


What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including traders and researchers, to understand data requirements and seamlessly integrate alternative and other data sources into the investment process
  • Own the entire data discovery lifecycle: identify data needs and opportunities, evaluate and vet new data sources, negotiate commercial terms, and manage ongoing vendor relationships
  • Leverage your data domain expertise and technical skills to perform in-depth assessments of data sets with a focus on data integrity, coverage and differentiation
  • Attend data conferences and industry events to ensure Jump stays aware of new data offerings and maintains overall best-in-class data.
  • Create and cultivate relationships with vendors to proactively identify and capitalize on emerging data opportunities that drive strategic advantages

Skills You’ll Need:

  • In-depth knowledge of how quantitative trading firms integrate alternative data into their investment process
  • Strong analytical skills to explore, evaluate and interpret complex data sets
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and investment strategies
  • Hands-on experience negotiating data licensing agreements
  • Proficiency in reviewing and understanding technical API documentation
  • Exceptional multitasking skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills to work effectively across multiple business units within the firm
  • Predictable and reliable availability
