Role Overview:
Reporting to the VP FP&A, the Financial Planning Analyst will support the business by providing actionable insights through reporting and financial analysis for senior leadership. This position is ideal for someone who is familiar with financial forecasting, variance reporting, and can use their business skills to organize and present information in a way that allows the team to take appropriate actions that maintain and improve financial results.
- Prepares and reviews accurate and timely financial and business-related analyses, research, budgets, and forecasts
- Provides analytical support to management throughout the annual budget process, especially with regard to understanding revenue trends and variances to plan, and in performing monthly forecasting processes
- Performs advanced trend and variance analyses; incorporates data from different areas and synthesizes. Provides insightful analysis driven by financial analytics and deep understanding of financial processes, accounting principles and financial systems
- Determine specific drivers of business performance with analysis of revenue growth, variance, margin mix, period over period
- Assist in identifying and tracking KPIs to ensure alignment of account management strategy with meeting company financial targets, including developing assumptions, evaluating business cases, and maintaining financial models and forecasts used to measure achievement towards targets
- Own the analysis of available reporting on client account productivity and utilization, and standard reporting packages used by business unit leadership as it relates to measuring and interpreting financial performance
- Coordinate with data analytics team as necessary to ensure appropriate financial data is available for analyzing operations and client account performance and trends
- Suggest new reporting views and ways to present information as needed to support financial insights
- Produce and present monthly management report, analyzing key takeaways driving past performance and providing insights into expected future performance based on individual client and product line trends
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested by analyzing sales and operational data that drives financial performance, and then presenting it in a way that allows stakeholders to make effective business decisions
- Assist leadership team in setting appropriate targets for individual client account growth.
- Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or other quantitative discipline (MBA, CFA, or other professional courses and certifications considered a plus)
- 3-5 years of experience in a combination of roles that must include finance or sales analytics.
- Possess an ownership mindset, with the ability to think strategically in terms of financial value creation, coupled with a strong focus on execution to help supported teams to deliver in achieving financial targets
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to understand, interpret, and develop complex models and reports and translate them into tangible conclusions and recommendations to drive decision-making and execution
- Prior experience with budgeting and forecasting is required
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and information clearly, ask questions to obtain information, and listen to respond effectively
- Strong execution skills with evidence of improving financial performance
- Comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization, including executives
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required
- Some proficiency with SharePoint and PowerBI is preferred
