You will bridge the gap between engineering and finance, ensuring our cloud investments deliver maximum value while maintaining exceptional service quality. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to turn complex usage and billing data into clear insights, recommendations, and actions that improve both infrastructure efficiency and business outcomes.

What you'll do every day

  • Establish and maintain cloud cost visibility by implementing tagging strategies, cost allocation models, and comprehensive billing analysis across multi-cloud environments.
  • Identify and drive cost optimization opportunities, including reserved instances, savings plans, right-sizing recommendations, and architectural improvements.
  • Develop and automate FinOps processes such as cost forecasting, anomaly detection, and budget management.
  • Partner with Platform Engineering, DevOps, and product teams to balance cost efficiency with performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports that communicate cloud spend trends, forecasts, and cost drivers to engineering and finance stakeholders.
  • Establish and continually refine FinOps governance policies, guardrails, and best practices to ensure consistent cloud usage and cost discipline.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships between technical and financial teams to align cloud investments with business objectives and priorities.
  • Leverage AI-powered analytics and automation tools to surface optimization opportunities, detect anomalies in cloud spend, and continuously improve FinOps workflows.
  • Continuously analyze usage patterns and partner with teams to design experiments or pilots that validate new optimization approaches while protecting customer experience.

What you need to bring

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices in production environments.
  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud billing and cost analysis tool (for example, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or GCP Billing).
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming (such as Python, Bash, or Go) to automate workflows and leverage AI tools to analyze cloud spend, detect anomalies, and streamline FinOps processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret cloud billing data and infrastructure metrics to drive actionable recommendations.
  • Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical and financial concepts to diverse, cross-functional stakeholders in a fully remote, distributed environment.

Bonus points

  • Experience operating in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the FinOps Foundation framework and the FOCUS billing taxonomy.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and observability platforms (such as Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus).
  • Background in financial analysis, accounting, or business intelligence.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and modern version control workflows.
  • FinOps Practitioner or major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) cost management certification.
