About Supper

Supper is an AI-native data platform that makes your company’s information as easy to use as a conversation.

Business teams at most high-growth companies are held back by data request backlogs, overwhelmed by dashboards, or relying on outdated reports.

Supper changes that. Anyone can just ask a question in plain English and get a clear, trusted answer. No SQL, no dashboards, no waiting. Supper’s chat agent guides users with follow-ups, clarifies intent, and helps them drill into what they actually want to know -- whether it’s sales tracking pipeline velocity, product digging into adoption, or finance monitoring margins.

We’ve already helped teams answer over 100,000 real business questions. Supper connects to all your systems, cleans and unifies the data, learns your company’s unique metrics, and keeps everything live and auditable.

About the role

  • Supper is building the next generation of AI-powered analytics — and we’re looking for a Forward Deployed Data Analyst who thrives at the intersection of data modeling, SQL craftsmanship, and problem-solving in fast-evolving systems.
  • You’ll work directly with customers and our internal engineering and product teams to ensure Supper’s AI reasoning layer translates business questions into correct, efficient, and insightful queries. You’ll diagnose query issues, optimize view and table design, and shape the data architecture that underpins our customers’ success.
  • This is a role for someone who can think strategically about the design of data systems and tactically about how to fix what’s broken — a mix of detective, architect, and translator between humans and machines.
  • As an early team member, you’ll play a key role in defining how Supper scales — both our product and our company.

What you'll do

  • SQL Mastery & Data Design: Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries and data models. Understand deeply how base tables, derived views, and metrics layers interact. Propose structural improvements to simplify joins, reduce latency, and improve accuracy.
  • System Diagnosis & Debugging: Investigate and resolve issues across our AI analytics pipeline — from question parsing and prompt translation to data retrieval and query execution.
  • Customer Collaboration: Work directly with customers to understand their data structures, ensure Supper performs flawlessly in their environment, and surface insights that improve their analytics outcomes.
  • Internal Feedback Loop: Translate customer challenges and recurring issues into actionable feedback for the product and engineering teams. Collaborate closely with founders to influence system architecture and performance strategy.
  • Performance & Sync Optimization: Identify where syncing, schema design, or data transformation can be improved to boost system speed, reliability, and interpretability.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Serve as a bridge between customers, engineers, and account managers. Keep complex projects organized while juggling multiple priorities in a high-velocity environment.

You'll love this job if you...

  • Are exceptional with SQL — not just writing queries, but thinking in SQL.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Enjoy structuring messy, fast-changing systems into something elegant and scalable.
  • Thrive in an early-stage startup with smart, intense teammates and constant evolution.
  • Love solving hard problems and working close to the frontier of AI and analytics.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years in analytics, data engineering, or BI roles in tech or startup environments
  • Deep experience with SQL; familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT, and BI tools
  • Strong organizational and communication skills — able to translate complex technical findings into clear recommendations
  • High intellectual curiosity, low ego, and a bias for action
  • Excited to work from Supper’s NYC office 4 days/week (1 remote day/week)

Compensation

  • OTE $130‑190k based on experience.
  • Early‑stage equity—you’re not just renting your talent.
