About Solva

Solva is building AI for insurers to transform an $8 trillion industry, starting with claims. We’re backed by $6m from First Round, Y Combinator, SV Angel and angel investors, including Paul Graham, that have funded companies such as OpenAI, Google, Stripe, Anthropic, Databricks and Github. We have an advisory board of experienced insurance executives and founders.

Our team was previously part of building Europe’s fastest growing InsurTech and founded a licensed EU bank processing payments of €1B/yr+. Now we are taking on one of the world’s largest industries and rebuilding it from the ground up with AI.

Solva is a Y Combinator S25 company and has emerged as one of the fastest growing and best-funded startups.

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Solva you will work directly with customers and our product team to bring our AI systems into real claims environments. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product and customer operations. You will apply your technical skills to understand workflows, data and requirements from insurers and turn them into production critical solutions.

On a day to day basis you will build integrations, processing pipelines, refine how our product behaves in specific customer setups and help solve real world problems with AI and data. You will see the full picture from customer requirements to shipped solutions and you will take charge and exercise ownership of your part of the delivery.

This role is suited for someone who enjoys working in fast moving environments, can switch between technical problem solving and customer discussions, and wants to see the direct impact of their work. It is full time.

What you’ll do
  • Work directly with insurers to understand their claims workflows, data and system requirements

  • Build and maintain integrations between Solva and customer systems

  • Configure and adapt AI driven workflows for specific use cases

  • Diagnose issues in data, logic or system behavior and work with the team to resolve them

  • Translate real world customer needs into clear technical requirements for engineering

  • Support pilots from start to finish and ensure they run smoothly in production

  • Contribute field insights back into the product to improve reliability and performance

What we’re looking for
  • Strong engineering background with experience shipping production systems

  • Comfortable working with APIs, data processing, backend logic and workflow design

  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into solutions that work

  • Eagerness to solve practical problems and figuring out how to make systems behave correctly

  • Enjoys working with both tech experts and business teams

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to represent Solva well in customer discussions
