Lead end-to-end customer implementations by building custom integrations, configuring and productionizing AI agents, developing backend solutions, translating vague requirements into technical specs, and creating internal tools to accelerate repeatable deployments. Work closely with founders and clients to ship robust systems quickly.
About Us
CollectWise is a fast growing and well funded Y Combinator-backed startup. We’re using generative AI to automate debt collection, a $35B market in the US alone. Our AI agents are already outperforming human collectors by 2X, and we’re doing so at a fraction of the cost.
With a team of three, we scaled to a $1 million annualized run rate in just a few months, and we are now hiring a forward deployed engineer to help us reach $10 million within the next year.
Role
We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead customer implementations end-to-end. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and operations, building the integrations and technical systems that bring clients into production.
This role blends software engineering with hands-on customer work. You’ll thrive here if you enjoy ambiguity, love shipping quickly, and can translate business requirements into robust, testable systems. This is a highly visible, high-ownership role working closely with the founder and clients.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain custom integrations with client systems.
- Configure and productionize AI agents for each client (prompts, workflows, data transfers).
- Develop and implement client solutions using modern back-end frameworks.
- Translate vague customer requirements into clear technical specs and ship solutions quickly.
- Build internal tools to make implementations faster and more repeatable.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Node.js, React.js, AWS, SQL, and GPT-5 or other LLMs.
- Experience building products in a production environment (your own startup, working at an early-stage startup, or a meaningful project from scratch).
- Very strong communication skills and work ethic.
- Experience or interest in voice AI.
- Versatility across disciplines.
Compensation
- Salary range: $150,000 to $190,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
- 0.25% to 1% equity compensation
The base pay range for this role is $150,000 – $190,000 per year.
