Why Join Kubera?

At Kubera Health, we’re on a mission to help healthcare providers and health plans streamline the business of healthcare—so they can focus on delivering high-quality care.

Healthcare costs are rising, but the percentage of money reaching patients and those that provide care is shrinking. Billions of dollars are spent annually on payment administration, yet inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and substantial manual work persist. That’s where we come in.

Kubera Health is building modern applications that simplify contract management, payment tracking, and policy oversight. Our platform turns fragmented PDFs, emails, and disparate datasets into intuitive dashboards, empowering customers to track business changes, generate powerful reports, and model future impacts with ease. By automating data ingestion and visualizing key performance metrics, we reduce administrative burden and drive real value back into patient care.

Our Mission & Values

We believe that financial clarity in healthcare leads to better patient care. Our mission is to improve the financial health & decision-making of organizations dedicated to improving human health.

We are guided by five core values:

  • Make it better – Improve the world and users’ lives through our work.

  • Customer obsession – Keep customers at the center of everything we build.

  • Get it done – Take ownership, execute with urgency, and follow through.

  • One team, many voices – Encourage diverse perspectives and commit to decisions as a team.

  • Lifelong learning – Embrace challenges, seek feedback, and grow continuously.

Why Join Now?

We’re scaling quickly and growing our engineering team to meet increasing demand. Now is the time to make an impact.

  • Enterprise traction: We’ve signed multiple enterprise customers (several organizations with >$250M in revenue) and are rapidly expanding our footprint.

  • Institutional backing: We’ve raised $3M from top-tier investors including Upfront Ventures, SemperVirens VC, and Company Ventures.

  • Production-ready product: We’ve moved from concept to a deployed system in under a year and gearing up for rapid customer onboarding.

  • Build impactful features from 0-1: We’re in a phase of rapid iteration and build out of product.

  • High-impact team: We’re a small but mighty team of healthcare and tech experts with deep domain knowledge, engineering experience, and a shared passion for solving meaningful problems.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join our early team and play a critical role in building the foundation of our platform. You’ll work closely with the CEO and other founding team members (engineering, operations) to scale our product, ship impactful features, and onboard our next set of customers.

This role isn’t just about writing great code—it’s about driving impact, shaping our engineering culture, and solving complex problems that can transform healthcare.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, test, and release new features, shipping production code from day one.

  • Work across the full stack: backend, frontend, infrastructure, architecture, analytics, and integrations.

  • Design and work with data structures, analytics modeling, and parsing complex healthcare datasets to surface actionable insights.

  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making to ensure a clean, stable, and maintainable codebase.

  • Opportunity to own problems end-to-end and wear multiple hats—whether that’s working directly with customers, shaping product roadmaps, or iterating on UX design.

  • Work in a hybrid environment in NYC, collaborating closely with the team in person.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2-5 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer, preferably with one role in an early-stage (pre-Series A) startup.

  • Strong experience with our tech stack React, TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.

  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and takes ownership to drive meaningful outcomes.

  • Strong communication skills and a product-focused mindset—thinking beyond the code to understand how users will interact with what you build.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, LLMs, and cloud-based data pipelines.

  • Background in healthcare and/or fintech

  • Data experience: working with data-heavy applications, building scalable, high-performance systems with large datasets, and/or parsing and structuring unstructured data (PDFs, emails, disparate datasets)

  • A track record of making technical tradeoffs between speed and scalability, knowing when to optimize and when to ship quickly.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation for the seed stage

  • Equity in an early-stage, high-growth startup (founding team level).

  • Full health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.

  • Unlimited PTO

  • The opportunity to shape the engineering culture and technical direction of a fast-growing company
