Scholarships360 Overview:

Scholarships360 is making higher education more affordable and accessible. Each year, millions of students and families use our platform to discover scholarships, financial aid opportunities, and resources to navigate the college journey. We partner with colleges, nonprofits, and student-centric brands to connect students with the resources they need to succeed.

We’re a small but fast-growing team combining technology, content, and partnerships to help students make smarter financial decisions about their education.

Role Overview:

We’re hiring a Founding Engineer to take ownership of the technical foundation of Scholarships360. This role is a chance to step into an early-stage, impactful position where you’ll shape the direction of our product, technology, and engineering culture. You’ll become the primary technical owner for our platform, and work closely with the founding team to scale Scholarships360’s impact.

This is a unique opportunity for a builder who’s excited to wear multiple hats: architecting solutions, writing production code, improving infrastructure, and contributing to product strategy.

Please note this is an in-person role out of our Williamsburg, NYC office (The Brass Factory, 185 Wythe Ave f2, Brooklyn, NY 11249).

What you’ll do:

  • Take full ownership of Scholarships360’s engineering function, from codebase to infrastructure.
  • Lead development of new product features and improvements that directly impact the experiences of students and partners using our platform.
  • Maintain and scale our existing systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with the founding team on product vision and technical strategy.
  • Establish engineering best practices, processes, and documentation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Full-stack expertise: Proficiency in modern web frameworks, backend services, and front-end development. (Bonus if you’ve worked with our current stack of React, Next.js, Firestore, and BigQuery)
  • Product-focused mindset: You care deeply about building products that solve real problems, and are excited to test ideas across hundreds of thousands of monthly active users.
  • Startup builder: Comfort with ambiguity, resourcefulness, and a bias toward shipping.
  • Technical leadership: Experience setting direction, making architectural decisions, and working independently.
  • Mission alignment: Passion for education, access, or building tech that creates social impact.

Bonus (Preferred, Not Required):

  • Experience with edtech, marketplaces, or content-driven platforms.
  • Previous startup or founding team experience.
  • Exposure to analytics and SEO.

What you’ll get:

  • Base salary: $140-160k
  • Equity: 2.0%-4.0% depending on experience (4-year vesting)
  • Monthly healthcare stipend
  • 401(k) contribution
  • Annual bonus

If interested please email [email protected] with a short bio, a note about your fit for this role, and your LinkedIn profile. Thank you!
