About Vega

The $250B insurance claims industry runs on fax machines, phone tag, and adjusters buried in paperwork. Cycle times stretch for months. Data is locked in legacy systems. And the workforce is aging out faster than it's being replaced.

Vega is the premier AI-native claims TPA built to replace that entire stack. Our team is equal parts experienced insurance operators and modern technologists. We care deeply about delivering superior outcomes for our clients, and we want builders that get their hands dirty shipping solutions that move the needle.

Our results: 10x YoY revenue growth, and on track for $XXM run-rate in under 2 years. Backed by marquee VCs like General Catalyst and Valor.

The Role

We’re hiring a Founding Marketing Lead to help Vega win complex, multi-stakeholder deals and define how we show up in the market. Your job is to make carriers and MGAs aware of who Vega is and have an opinion before a a sales rep ever reaches out.

We're running a account-based motion into a market where buyers are risk-averse and decisions take time. You'll partner shoulder-to-shoulder with Sales to generate qualified inbound opportunities and to build the credibility that makes those conversations easier.

You will also own Vega’s external presence. That means owning how we show up across every channel and every room: the content that earns trust from carriers and MGAs, the events where relationships get built, and the commercial narrative that makes us the obvious call before a demo is even scheduled.

This role is central to how Vega shows up in the market. You'll report to the CEO, and work closely with Sales, Product, and Ops, translating complex ideas into things the market actually engages with.

What You'll Do
  • Build the foundation: You will get the opportunity to build the marketing function at a fast-scaling AI startup

  • External Presence: Own how Vega shows up across every channel - content and thought leadership that earns credibility with buyers and industry press and a conference and events strategy that puts us in the right rooms with the right people.

  • Partnerships: Build and scale a strategic partner ecosystem. Identify and cultivate relationships with distribution partners, industry associations, and adjacent platforms, then turn those partnerships into repeatable growth channels

  • Sales partnership: Partner with Sales on high-stakes pursuits - pitch decks, leave-behinds, exec-level proposals, and account-based programs that generate qualified inbound and accelerate named accounts through the pipeline.

  • Measure & iterate: Instrument what you ship. Know whether a campaign worked, kill what doesn't, and reallocate. This is an analytical role as much as a creative one.

  • GTM innovation: Stay ahead of how AI is changing demand gen, outbound, and buyer engagement. You'll have real latitude to experiment and operationalize what works.

Who You Are
  • 5–10 years in marketing, ideally running marketing within a sales-led, account-based motion into complex, multi-stakeholder deals.

  • You'll build and own the marketing function. This starts as a founding, hands-on role with no team, and grows into owning all of marketing - hiring and leading it as Vega scales.

  • Startup DNA. You've worked in early, venture-backed environments and are comfortable being the first/only marketer - scrappy and high-ownership.

  • Analytically driven, not just creative. You can judge whether a campaign actually worked and iterate quickly.

  • An exceptional communicator. Your writing is clear, precise, and not generic. People actually read what you send.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by ownership. You're a builder - you've shipped, grown, or created something you're proud of, and you don't wait for a playbook.

  • Fluent with AI tools and comfortable weaving them into your day-to-day - research, drafting, accelerating output. We're an AI-native company and expect the same from our team.

  • Nice to have:

    • Tooling like Attio (CRM) or Clay - but the real weight is on willingness to pick up new tools fast, not a specific stack.

    • InsurTech / FinTech / vertical AI/SaaS experience a plus.

We set our salary ranges using compensation data from companies similar to our stage and size. For this role, the estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 - $190,000. The actual salary will vary depending on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including location, job-related knowledge, transferable skills, work experience and our assessment of your level during the interview process. Vega offers equity for all full-time employees, which is not included in the range listed above and will have an impact on your overall compensation.

Vega offers a wide range of best-in-class, comprehensive benefits including 100% employer paid healthcare plans, an up to 4% 401k match program, paid time off, parental leave, wellness reimbursement, work-from-home stipend and more. Vega is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re interested in this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. We'd like to consider you for this position and roles that may be a fit in the future.
