About LiveKit

LiveKit is building the infrastructure layer for the voice-driven era of computing. Our platform gives developers everything they need to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe agents in production. Founded in 2021, LiveKit powers voice AI applications for OpenAI, xAI, Salesforce, Coursera, Spotify, and thousands of others, collectively facilitating billions of calls each year.

You'll thrive at LiveKit if you:
  • You care about motion at a craft level: timing, easing, rhythm, pacing, transitions, and how it all adds up to feel.

  • You think in systems, patterns, and reusable behaviors, not just isolated animations.

  • You move fast, make decisions, and ship without letting quality slip.

  • You like turning technical ideas into motion that feels simple, sharp, and worth watching.

  • You can push for a strong creative point of view while working closely with brand, marketing, product, and engineering to bring it to life.

About This Role:

We’re looking for a Motion Designer to help define how LiveKit moves.

This is a founding motion role focused on bringing our brand, product story, and launches to life through thoughtful, high-craft animation. You’ll work across product marketing, launch films, campaign systems, social, events, web marketing surfaces, and brand moments that help developers understand what LiveKit makes possible.

LiveKit sits at the intersection of voice, video, realtime infrastructure, and AI agents. Motion is a huge part of making that feel tangible. The right person will be able to translate abstract technical ideas into clear, memorable, and emotionally resonant motion systems.

You’ll partner closely with brand, web, product design, marketing, and engineering to create motion work that raises the quality bar across the company. This role is primarily brand and marketing focused, but there will be opportunities to flex into web animation, product storytelling, and interface motion when it helps sharpen the experience.

This is a great role for someone who wants to both make excellent work and help build the foundation for a motion practice from the ground up.

What You'll Do:
  • Help define LiveKit’s motion language from the ground up: the principles, timing, behaviors, and feel that make our brand recognizably ours.

  • Lead motion for major launches and campaigns, from announcement videos and hero moments to social cuts and supporting assets.

  • Bring LiveKit’s website and key marketing surfaces to life with animation that is thoughtful, performant, and in service of the story.

  • Build reusable motion systems, templates, components, and workflows so high-quality motion can ship faster across the team.

  • Partner closely with brand, marketing, product, and design engineering to turn complex technical ideas into motion that feels clear, sharp, and worth watching.

Who You Are:
  • You have a standout motion portfolio across brand and marketing work, from fast-turn social edits to polished launch moments.

  • You’re excellent with After Effects and have a modern motion toolkit, but your foundation is design: type, composition, pacing, hierarchy, and taste.

  • You can take a loose brief, find the shape of the idea, and drive the work from concept to final export.

  • You care deeply about the details — timing, easing, transitions, rhythm — and know when something feels right.

  • You move quickly and ship, but not at the expense of craft.

  • You’re curious about how AI can speed up, expand, or sharpen the creative process.

  • You’re comfortable bringing motion to the web, whether through Lottie, Rive, CSS/SVG, prototyping tools, or close collaboration with design engineers.

  • You like working close to the product and can make technical ideas feel simple, sharp, and exciting.

We offer
  • The opportunity to shape the brand of a fast-growing developer platform

  • Collaboration with a small, senior team that deeply values craft and creativity

  • Competitive salary and equity package

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits

  • Flexible vacation policy
