Open Standard is building internet-native money.
We believe that much like data moved to the cloud, dollars will move on-chain. As this transition occurs, stablecoins will become core financial infrastructure. To do that, we are building Open USD (https://ousd.xyz/). OUSD is live across Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo, with Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa as founding partners.
We are still very early, and the engineers joining now will shape both the product and the company.
About the RoleWe are looking for a Founding Product Engineer who can take ambiguous problems and turn them into products people actually use.
You will work across APIs, backend systems, data, integrations, internal tools, and user-facing products. There may not be a detailed PRD waiting for you. We expect you to understand the problem, make product and technical decisions, and build.
This role will have outsized influence on our product direction, technical foundations, engineering culture, and how the team grows from here.
We also want engineers who are highly AI native and already use coding agents and AI tools to materially change how they work.
What You'll DoOwn products and features end to end, from problem definition through launch.
Build across the stack, including APIs, backend systems, integrations, dashboards, and internal tools.
Work directly with customers, partners, and the founding team.
Help define product direction and technical architecture.
Use AI and automation to prototype, build, and iterate faster.
Help establish the engineering practices and culture future teammates will inherit.
5+ years of software engineering experience.
Strong product instinct and technical judgment.
Comfortable working across different parts of the stack.
High ownership and comfort with ambiguity.
Able to move quickly without sacrificing quality.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Already using AI meaningfully in your development workflow.
Nice to have: experience in developer products, APIs, fintech, payments, crypto, or early-stage startups.
You do not need prior crypto experience.
