Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to lead FP&A transformation initiatives. This pivotal role will drive the evolution of our financial planning and analysis capabilities, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and leveraging cutting-edge technologies like AI to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. You will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of FP&A processes and systems, with a strong focus on automation and advanced analytics. This role requires a deep understanding of FP&A best practices, a proven track record of leading large-scale systems transformations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, experience in setting up and optimizing shared financial services is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Execute FP&A Transformation Strategy:
- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for FP&A transformation initiatives, aligning with overall business goals.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and technology adoption to enhance FP&A efficiency and effectiveness.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, including AI and machine learning, to automate routine tasks, enhance forecasting accuracy, and generate deeper insights.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in FP&A transformation, including the latest advancements in AI and automation.
- Drive Large-Scale Systems Transformations:
- Lead the financial aspects of large-scale systems implementations, including ERP, financial planning, and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new systems with existing processes.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines for systems transformation initiatives.
- Oversee the testing, validation, and deployment of new systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Establish and Optimize Shared Financial Services:
- Participate in the design and implementation of shared financial services models to centralize and standardize FP&A activities.
- Develop service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for shared services operations.
- Drive process standardization and automation within the shared services environment.
- Ensure the smooth transition of FP&A functions into the shared services model.
- Optimize the shared service center for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Process Optimization and Standardization:
- Design and implement standardized FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
- Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks, such as data entry, reconciliation, and report generation.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials.
- Data Analytics and Reporting Enhancement:
- Enhance data analytics capabilities to provide actionable insights for decision-making, utilizing AI and machine learning algorithms to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop and implement advanced reporting and dashboard solutions to improve visibility into financial performance.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all FP&A systems and reports.
- Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including finance leadership, IT, and business partners.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, providing regular updates on transformation initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes.
- Manage change management related to process and systems changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, with a strong focus on transformation initiatives.
- Proven experience leading large-scale systems transformations, including ERP and financial planning system implementations.
- Experience in setting up and optimizing shared financial services models.
- Deep understanding of FP&A best practices, processes, and technologies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Experience with financial planning and analysis software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, Hyperion).
- Experience with AI and automation tools in an FP&A context is a plus.
- Experience with change management best practices.

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be $66,000 - $225,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
