JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Freelance Associate Producer to join The Will Cain Show. As the Freelance Associate Producer, you have a passion for news and strong editorial judgement. You have a strong writing ability and are a creative go-getter. As the Freelance Associate Producer, you find the best part of a story and make it matter to a national audience. You know how to get the exclusive and how to educate the audience by producing visual segments. You have a good attitude and understand the in-depth storytelling we do on The Will Cain Show.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Find and research unique guests to pitch

  • Produce segments that often require in-depth research & custom graphics

  • Conduct pre-interviews & put together research packets on a wide array of topics

  • Pitch stories daily

  • Be creative and think ‘outside the box’

  • Handcraft creative, unique introductions to segments with great writing

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • A Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in television production

  • Strong writing skills and editorial judgment

  • A passion for current events

  • Social media savviness  

  • Knowledge of I-News, Viz, and Dalet a plus

  • Experience in a live control room a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $28.00-36.06 per hour.
