Who are we?

MATTE is a 360° full-service creative studio at the convergence of hype, storytelling and design. We bring people together to inspire new ways of engaging, to provoke long term progress, and to entertain audiences around the world, while helping forward-thinking brands and institutions nimbly and truly do the same. Our studio capabilities range from strategic ideation and insights, creative development, branding and identity, experiential, web design and development, campaigns and content creation, all the way through full-scale production and execution.

About this role:

We are searching for an experienced Freelance Creative Post Producer to join our team and report directly to the Sr Director of Post Production.

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our projects, from bidding and scheduling to final delivery, ensuring creative excellence and financial health. In addition, this role has a key external-facing component: you will be our ambassador, tasked with discovering new talent, strengthening vendor relationships, and researching the next generation of post-production technology, including AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with creative leads and producers to accurately bid projects. Create and manage all post-production budgets, tracking costs and ensuring profitability.
  • Build, manage, and adapt post-production schedules for multiple concurrent projects, booking all internal and external resources.
  • Serve as the client contact for all things post-production, expertly managing expectations, communicating timelines, and handling feedback, and laddering into our full Account Management team.
  • Supervise and support the in-house post team (Editors, Assistant Editors, PAs), fostering a collaborative and efficient environment.
  • Oversee the entire post-production pipeline, from media ingest and prep to finishing (color, sound, VFX) and final delivery, ensuring all technical specs and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet our high standards for creative and technical excellence.
  • Actively network and meet with new creative talent (freelance editors, motion designers, etc.) to build our roster. Source, negotiate with, and manage external post-production vendors (color houses, audio mixers, VFX shops) to ensure the best quality and value.
  • Proactively stay at the forefront of post-production tools, software, and emerging AI technologies.
  • Attend key industry conferences and tech presentations to identify new workflows, tools, and trends that can enhance our creative output and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Post Producer in a fast-paced environment (e.g., creative agency, post house, or commercial production).
  • Expert-level knowledge of bidding, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Proven experience in a client-facing role with exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  •  A deep understanding of modern post-production workflows, file formats, and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, frame.io).
  • Experience managing and mentoring post-production teams.
  • A genuine and demonstrable passion for new technology, media trends, and the application of AI in post-production.
