The Freelance Production Assistant is an aspiring news producer who has a passion for weather and an eagerness to work in this exciting industry. You excel in communication, embrace learning opportunities, and exhibit excellent teamwork. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively pitch a variety of stories from breaking weather news to features on weather-related themes
Assist our production team in building segments, managing breaking news, and handling long-term projects
Find the best sound bites, video, and graphics to create compelling segments
Write banners, edit video, and occasionally book guests, all while quickly responding to breaking weather news
Quickly identify strong user-generated content from multiple sources, ensuring the best elements are incorporated into FOX Weather coverage
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
Previous internship or job experience in related roles
Passion for the weather domain; previous experience is a plus
Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively
Proficient with social media
Exceptional communication skills to work in collaboration with team members
