About the role

We're looking for a freelance recruiter with media agency experience to own full-cycle hiring for 20 hours a week over a 6–8 week engagement. You'll source, screen and present strong candidates, and partner closely with hiring managers to fill roles quickly without lowering the bar.

What you'll do

  • Build pipelines through LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, industry networks and direct search.
  • Write and send personalized outreach to passive and active candidates; manage follow-ups and keep response rates high.
  • Conduct screens to assess skills, experience, culture fit, compensation expectations and availability.
  • Evaluate portfolios, work samples and client experience; check references and confirm candidate claims before presenting.
  • Run intake meetings to define role requirements, calibrate on profiles, and give hiring managers regular pipeline updates.
  • Submit shortlists with concise write-ups covering strengths, concerns and fit.
  • Schedule interviews, prepare candidates, and gather feedback from interviewers promptly.
  • Help close candidates, including compensation conversations and managing counteroffers.
  • Keep candidates informed at every stage and close the loop with those not moving forward.
  • Keep the ATS current and report on pipeline status, time-to-fill and source effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • You've recruited for, or worked inside, a media agency (planning, buying, programmatic, strategy, account management or similar).
  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, agency-side or in-house.
  • Proven sourcing skills, including Boolean search and LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Strong screening and assessment skills, with a track record of candidates who get hired and stay.
  • Confident working directly with hiring managers and pushing back when requirements are unrealistic.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
  • Self-directed and organized; able to manage several open roles within a 20-hour week.
  • Comfortable working as an independent contractor.
