the job:

amika is looking for Video Editors at various levels to join our in-house creative team. This role is ideal for editors who are self-starters, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are fluent in social-first video storytelling. 

You’ll work across tutorials, behind-the-scenes content, product storytelling, and brand campaigns—collaborating closely with creative, social, and marketing partners to bring ideas to life across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and e-commerce. This is a great opportunity to grow your craft while contributing to a globally loved beauty brand with a strong creative POV. 


location: brooklyn, ny (must be based in nyc + have the right to work in the US)

what you'll do:

  • Translate storyboards and creative direction into dynamic, polished video content 
  • Edit tutorials, behind-the-scenes footage, product-focused content, and brand storytelling assets 
  • Work closely with the Associate Art Director, Video & Animation to ensure all video aligns with amika’s brand identity and creative vision 
  • Collaborate with Creative, Social, and Marketing teams to support campaigns and product launches 
  • Enhance videos with transitions, text animation, light motion graphics, music, voiceover, and sound design 
  • Prepare projects for export using Adobe Media Encoder, ensuring proper specs across platforms 
  • Adapt edits for multiple formats and aspect ratios (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, paid media, web) while maintaining creative integrity 
  • Maintain a high bar for color correction, mix prep, pacing, typography, and overall polish 
  • Organize raw footage, working files, and final deliverables using clear, consistent file systems 
  • Stay current on beauty trends, platform best practices, and evolving video styles 


must haves:

  • 2+ years of professional video editing experience (level calibrated based on portfolio) 
  • NYC-based  
  • Proven self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of projects 
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments 
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder 
  • Solid working knowledge of After Effects, including motion graphics and compositing 
  • Experience performing proper color correction and mix prep for final delivery 
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and brand-driven content 
  • Experience creating social-first content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts 
  • Strong eye for typography, motion fundamentals, and detail 


nice to haves:

  • Experience in beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or culture-driven brands 
  • DaVinci Resolve experience and deeper color grading knowledge 
  • Animation or motion design experience (2D, typography, or light character animation) 
  • Familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator
