Cassidy is a no-code platform that allows businesses to build custom AI assistants that automate complex multi-step workflows. By connecting to a company’s knowledge (docs, wikis, calls, etc.) and leveraging major AI models, Cassidy aims to be the “AI colleague” for every team—helping them work 100x faster without heavy engineering overhead.

About the role

We are seeking a highly autonomous engineer excited about owning the design and implementation of core features and infrastructure. Given the size of the team, you will be touching all parts of the stack.

What You’ll Do
  • Build Intuitive Interfaces: Develop features across Node, React, and Postgres (TypeScript) so non-technical users can design AI automations with ease.

  • Explore Advanced AI: Contribute to projects involving LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agents—from research/prototyping to full production releases.

  • Shape Core Architecture: Help refine our stack to handle growing data/usage needs, ensuring reliability and scalability.

  • Iterate with Product & Design: Work in a tight loop—prototype, gather feedback, and deliver high-impact features efficiently.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience (at least 1 year with full-stack responsibilities).

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Comfortable working on-site in NYC (4–5 days/week) to foster a close-knit, collaborative environment.

  • Proactive, self-motivated problem solver with strong communication skills.

  • Experience in a typed environment (preferably TypeScript) across Node.js, React, Postgres, etc.

Nice to haves
  • Large-Scale Systems Knowledge: Exposure to distributed systems, queues, caching, or ETLs.

  • Information Retrieval / Recommendation Systems: Experience building or contributing to search/ranking components.

  • Applied AI: Familiarity with evaluating AI models or integrating multi-LLM workflows at a basic level.

  • Startup or Small Team Experience: Comfortable wearing multiple hats and driving projects with minimal oversight.

Why Join Us
  • Impactful Work: Tackle next-gen AI-driven automation that changes how teams handle text-rich processes.

  • Growth Culture: Expect autonomy, open collaboration, and a strong focus on shipping quickly.

  • Competitive Compensation + Equity: We believe in rewarding high-performance individuals who drive our success.
