Quick Facts
  • Role: Lead Full-Stack Engineer
  • Location: 3+ days/week in NYC (Wall St office)
  • Compensation: $175k–$225k + equity

About the Role
You'll be leading the engineering effort behind the infrastructure that's opening up private markets for the first time. Monark's platform handles the entire lifecycle of alternative investments — from primary issuance through secondary market trading — all delivered via API to the brokerage platforms where millions of investors already manage their portfolios. As a fullstack engineer, you'll own the technical execution of that vision, working directly alongside our founding team to build, extend, and ship the systems that power it all.
This is a player-coach role. You'll be hands-on in the code while also helping organize and grow the engineering team around you. You'll collaborate across product, sales, compliance, and directly with our partners, turning business requirements, regulatory needs, and client feedback into world class technology.

What You'll Do
  • Lead with a hands-on approach. You'll be writing code, reviewing architecture, and setting the bar for quality and velocity
  • Build, extend, and integrate Monark's supported asset classes and capabilities
  • Work directly with partners throughout the integration lifecycle; scoping technical requirements, debugging, and providing responsive support
  • Ideate on and deliver future product lines, helping scope and deliver on new asset classes and system capabilities as we expand
  • Collaborate closely with the founding team to shape product strategy and technical direction
  • Operate across multiple roles and functions - this is an early-stage team where flexibility matters

Who You Are
  • You're entrepreneurial by nature. When you see a business problem, an inefficiency, or a partner request, your instinct is to build the solution, not wait for a roadmap.
  • You're an effective communicator and collaborator. You're equally comfortable presenting to partners during a sales call, debugging an integration issue, and aligning around priorities internally.
  • You're results-driven and fast-moving. You ship working, high-quality products efficiently, holding yourself and your team to the same standard.
  • You thrive doing a lot with a little. Monark has gotten here by being resourceful, and you're energized by that kind of environment, not intimidated by it.
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $175,000 – $225,000 per year.
