The role
The Funding Manager will lead a team of funders through all functions in the funding process to ensure loans are funded in a timely manner with the correct amount going to the correct account for the settlement agent. This includes optimizing funding workflows, coaching and training the team as necessary. They are responsible for directing the development of the funders on the team as well as identifying opportunities for process improvements and creating/supporting a culture of teamwork in and outside the department.
What you’ll do:
- Review pipeline to ensure wires are out for loans funding on the current day.
- Review pipelines to ensure wires are balanced and loans are prepped for funding for the next business day.
- Answer emails from title and SoFi employees.
- Ensure same day rush purchases are prioritized so funding is not missed on these files.
- Assisting with escalated loan files.
- Assign files to the team if anyone is out of the office.
- Assist with problem loans.
- Update auto assigner as needed.
- Conduct weekly team meetings.
- Direct reports are Loan Funding Specialist.
- 8-10 funders per team.
- Authority to make decisions on the funding team, start projects and improve workflows.
- Makes loan level decisions on files to get loans funded on time and in compliance with TRID.
Nice to have:
- 5 years’ experience in the mortgage industry.
- 1 years’ management experience.
- 2 years’ experience in mortgage funding.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
